Thanks and presentation of our intern

This post aims to express our deep gratitude to our intern, Baptiste Leroyer, who made a remarkable contribution during the four months of his internship at Waarp. His dedication and expertise were greatly appreciated by the entire team.

Presentation of the trainee profile

Currently in the third year at Epitech - The school of IT excellence , in the Grande École program, a five-year course including one year abroad. His curriculum and software development skills have made him a valuable asset to our team.

Internship mission

For this internship, our intern was hired to carry out a specific mission: integrate an r66 client natively into Waarp Manager.

Mission context

Waarp Manager, one of our flagship software solutions, primarily acts as a software centralization at Waarp, it is the supervisor. It must therefore be able to send information, including configuration files to the software connected to it. This information is transmitted via Waarp’s proprietary protocol: the r66 protocol.

Before our intern arrived, Waarp Manager did not have the ability to send information and files via the r66 protocol without using a third-party application written in Java, making installation of both programs (Manager and r66 Java) complicated and time-consuming.

Mission Objective

Make Waarp Manager able to send information via the r66 protocol without the need for a third-party program.

Accomplishment of the Mission

To accomplish this mission, our intern had to:

  • Appropriate the existing code base and learn to use the Waarp Manager software,

  • Integrate the functionality allowing the sending of information via the r66 protocol directly from Waarp Manager,

  • Create tests for this new feature.

  • Optimize this feature to ensure its effectiveness and reliability.

Thanks to his efforts, we now have an integrated solution that simplifies the installation and use of our software, thereby improving our productivity and customer satisfaction.

Message to businesses

This post also aims to highlight the importance of recruiting students and giving them the opportunity to prove to what extent they can bring a certain performance to the company, on their scale. Young talents like our intern bring a fresh and innovative perspective, while contributing significantly to current projects, think about it!

Dare to Recruit Students

Internships are an ideal opportunity for students to put their academic knowledge into practice and develop new skills. In return, businesses benefit from the enthusiasm, creativity and potential of young professionals.
