Release Notes

After 11 years of development and production use, Waarp Manager is finally moving to version 1.0.

Beyond the release, this version contains some fixes and new features.

Main changes

Prerequisites

With version 1.0, there are several notable changes to the application requirements:

  • Windows 7, 8, and Server 2008 and 2012 are no longer supported. The minimum required versions are Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016 ;

  • Linux kernel versions 2.4.x and 3.1.x are no longer supported. The minimum required version is 3.2.0 . As a result, RHEL 6 and Debian 6 ("squeeze") are no longer supported;

  • PostgreSQL 9.4 is no longer supported. The minimum required version is PostgreSQL 9.5 ;

  • Packages and archives for 32-bit OS variants are no longer provided. Only 64-bit architectures are supported .

In accordance with our versioning policy ( Semantic Versioning ), these prerequisites form the basis of compatibility of versions 1.xx. Except in cases of force majeure, they will not be changed before version 2.0.

Migration

Migrating an existing installation to version 1.0.0 is not yet possible. A migration tool will be released soon.

Version 1.0.0 is however barely functional for a new installation.

Integrated client

One of the main new features of version 1.0.0 is the integration of an R66 client integrated into Manager for sending configuration archives to transfer agents.

This greatly simplifies the installation of Manager, since it is no longer necessary to install an R66 client at the same time.

As a result, the configuration deployment process is more efficient (less resource-intensive) and faster (transfers are now parallelized).

Also note: the R66 client used by Manager is still defined in the partner list, but it is created automatically during installation.

PeSIT Partner Support

Version 1.0.0 adds support for PeSIT and PeSIT-TLS partners, as well as support for PeSIT and PeSIT-TLS protocols for Gateway partners.

FTP support in Gateway

Version 1.0.0 adds support for FTP and FTS protocols in Gateway partners.
